Ninhvana

Ninhvana is a unique resort located in the beautiful Ninh Van Bay in Vietnam, known for its pristine natural setting and a focus on experiential travel. As the General Manager, I was responsible for managing the diverse aspects of the property, focusing on enhancing the guest experience and fostering a strong team culture in a remote location. The resort offered an array of activities, including spa and massage, a nightclub, multiple dining destinations, themed events, water and jungle tours, and cultural tours, catering to both local and international travelers seeking a blend of relaxation and excitement. Additionally, Ninhvana operated as an eco-property with full commercial gardens and fish farms.

Ninhvana was part of the Vietnam Backpacker Hostels (VBH) portfolio, a brand known for its strong backpacker community vibe, adventure activities, and social experiences. The goal was to bring the same vibrant energy to a resort setting, offering comfortable accommodations, communal spaces, and a wide variety of activities that encouraged connection among guests.

Position Scope

Project Role:	General Manager
Team:	150, majority Vietnamese from local community
Accommodation:	7 levels, mixed dormitories, private bungalows, and beachfront rooms
Guest Capacity:	Up to 350 guests at peak
Location:	Remote, boat-access only

Responsibilities

• Oversaw day-to-day resort operations, managing all aspects including F&B, activities, accommodation, and guest relations.
• Ensured the smooth operation of a remote property by handling logistics for supplies, guest transfers, and staffing.
• Implemented new initiatives to enhance the guest experience, focusing on activities and personalized service.
• Fostered a strong community culture, maintaining VBH's core values of adventure, social interaction, and memorable experiences.
• Trained and developed a diverse team, ensuring high service standards while promoting sustainability and cultural sensitivity.
• Oversaw tours team selling nationwide tours with revenue in line with entire resort operations.
• Worked closely with local governance including state-nominated parties for compliance and regulations.
